
TOLKIEN WEBSITE COMPETITION T&Cs
1. To enter the competition for a chance to win a trip for two people to ‘tolkien country’ you must enter via the world wide web at www.tolkien.co.uk.
2. One competition prize winner will receive the opportunity for themselves and one other person to visit ‘Tolkien country’. Prize includes:
a) A two night luxury weekend stay at the Shireburn Arms Hotel (Whalley Road, Hurst Green, Clitheroe, Nr. Blackburn, Lancashire, England BB7 9QJ) in the Tolkien Room. Includes dinner, bed & breakfast for two nights (evening TDH dinner or A La Carte Menu).
b) A lunchtime meal for two at The Three Fishes Pub (Mitton Road, Mitton, Nr Whalley, Lancashire. BB7 9PQ) to the value of £40. This meal voucher can be claimed at lunchtime or in the evening during the weekend of their stay in Ribble Valley.
c) An Exclusive Guided Tour of Stonyhurst College (Stonyhurst, Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 9PZ). Includes a full tour of the college for two people followed by a cream tea in the Stuart Parlour.
d) Travel costs to Lancashire will not be provided as part of the competition prize. Other expenses (apart from those detailed above) including food and drink will not be provided.
e) 3 runners up will each receive a copy of the Deluxe Edition of Children of Hurin (ISBN: 978-0-00-725223-7) exclusively signed by Christopher Tolkien and illustrator Alan Lee.
3. The Prize is as stated. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, HarperCollins reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal value.
4. The prize is non-redeemable for cash and non-transferable.
5. The closing date for the competition is midnight on the 31st May 2007. Any entries received after this time will not be entered into the competition.
6. The competition is open to UK residents, aged 18 and over, excluding employees, their families and agents of HarperCollins Publishers Ltd, Shireburn Arms Hotel, Three Fishes pub and Stonyhurst College .
7. Only one entrant per person. Multiple entries may lead to disqualification. Entries from 3rd parties or agents are invalid. No proof of purchase is necessary.
8. HarperCollins takes no responsibility for any entries which are lost, delayed, illegible, corrupted, damaged, incomplete or otherwise invalid. Entries will not be acknowledged.
9. Any breach of these competition rules by an entrant will void their entry.
10. The winner will be drawn at random on the 1st June 2007 and the winner will be notified by text message, email, telephone or post by HarperCollins within 14 days of the draw. If the winner cannot be contacted within that time, the prize will be withdrawn.
11. The competition and the fulfillment of the prize are handled by The Marketing Department, HarperNonFiction, HarperCollins Publishers, 77-85 Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith, London W6 8JB. All enquires should be referred to the competition organizer at the above address.
12. HarperCollins decision as to who has won the competition shall be final and HarperCollins will not enter into any correspondence relating to the winning entries.
13. Entrants accept that if they win, HarperCollins will have the right, without additional payment or permission, to use their name for the purpose of announcing the winner of this competition and for related promotional purposes.
14. HarperCollins reserves the right to cancel the competition prize draw at any stage.
15. HarperCollins excludes all liability, so far as is permitted by law, which may arise in connection with the competition and the competition prizes.
16. Any dispute in relation to this competition shall be subject to the laws of England and Wales and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English Courts.
